파라모어는 미국 테네시 주 출신의 록밴드 그룹입니다. 기존 팝 펑크를 다루는 밴드였으나 현재는 얼터너티브 락과 인디 계열의 음악을 하는 중이라고 합니다. 2013년 정규앨범 Paramore를 기점으로 기존 작곡가가 탈퇴하게 되면서 밴드 스타일이 아예 바뀌게 되었다는데요, 팝 밴드의 성향이 짙어지며 팬들 취향에 따라 이를 좋아하는 사람들과 아닌 사람들로 갈리게 되었다고 합니다.

 

The only exception은 이들의 2009년 Brand new eyes 앨범의 6번째 수록곡입니다. 보컬 헤일리 윌리엄스가 처음으로 작곡한 사랑 노래로 항상 사랑에 대해 두려움이 있었지만 이젠 사랑이 존재한다는걸 믿게 되었다는 희망적인 내용의 가사입니다.
